Yes. Plataeon includes several family-friendly experiences designed for children and adults to explore together.

Hands-on activities, creative spaces, and interactive learning environments allow children to engage with ancient Greek culture through play and making.

All children must be accompanied and supervised by an adult at all times.

Please note that children under the age of 3 are not permitted to enter the clay tanks at Kaminos.

Our pricing reflects unlimited access to all our Plataeon venues in Athens, allowing visitors to reserve visit slots and return multiple times, exploring the spaces at their own pace.

This approach reflects how Plataeon is intended to be experienced: not as a one-time visit, but as a destination you can revisit and gradually discover.

Aule and Kapeleion are located side by side, while Kaminos is just a 2-minute walk away. All three venues are within walking distance of metro stations and easily accessible from central Athens.

The experiences at Plataeon take place in both indoor and outdoor spaces. For this reason, we recommend that visitors dress appropriately for the weather conditions.

On warmer days, it is advisable to bring a hat and sunscreen with you.

Plataeon is easily reached by metro.

The closest stations are:

Kerameikos Station (Blue Line) – approximately 9 minutes on foot
Metaxourgeio Station (Red Line) – approximately 13 minutes on foot

Both stations provide convenient access from central Athens and major transport connections.

Yes. Paid parking is available at Panellinio Athens Experience Car Services, which is located approximately a 6-minute walk from Plataeon and is open 24 hours a day.

Plataeon is accessible for wheelchair users across most of the site. One section within Aule is accessible only by stairs and is not suitable for wheelchair access.

To help ensure the comfort and safety of all visitors, pets are not permitted within Plataeon’s venues.

Yes. Plataeon is designed for both local visitors and international travellers. Experiences are easy to explore at your own pace, with multilingual audio guides helping visitors move through the spaces, stories, and activities independently.

Its combination of food, craft, play, and participation also offers a different way to experience ancient Athens beyond traditional sightseeing.

Yes. Visitors can enjoy dining at Kapeleion, a ground-floor tavern inspired by ancient Greek food and wine traditions, serving shareable dishes influenced by the flavours of ancient Athens.

Yes. Dining at Kapeleion is exclusively available to visitors who have purchased admission to Plataeon venues.

No. Food and drinks at Kapeleion are charged separately from admission, based on your selections from the à la carte menu.

Reservations are not currently available for Kapeleion.

Following your visit to Kaminos or Aule, you are welcome to enjoy food and wine at Kapeleion on a walk-in basis, subject to availability. Alternatively, you may visit Kapeleion exclusively for dining, without visiting the other Plataeon venues.

Please note: Access to Kapeleion is only available to guests who have purchased admission to Plataeon venues.

For health and safety reasons, only food and drinks purchased on site may be consumed at Plataeon.

You may bring water.

Yes. Photography is permitted for personal, non-commercial use.

Visitors are welcome to take photographs or record videos during their visit. We kindly ask everyone to be mindful of fellow visitors, our staff, and the shared space when taking and sharing photographs/videos.

Visitors are responsible for obtaining any necessary permissions and complying with applicable privacy and data protection laws. We do not accept responsibility for photographs or videos taken or shared by visitors.

Admission purchases may be cancelled within 14 calendar days of the purchase date, provided that the services have not been used, in accordance with the applicable Terms & Conditions.

Comfortable clothing that you do not mind getting a little dirty is recommended. Many experiences involve walking and hands-on activities using natural materials such as clay or flour.

On warmer days, we also recommend a hat and sunscreen, as some spaces are partially open-air.

Visitors to Aule will be asked to remove their shoes as part of the experience and socks will be provided.

The audio guide, available in 8 languages, accompanies you throughout your visit, while our hosts and craftspeople guide you through the interactive and hands-on activities.

Yes. Visitors may enjoy as many experiences as they wish during a single visit.

You can choose to visit Kaminos, Aule, Kapeleion, or all three venues during the same visit. For first-time visitors to Plataeon, we recommend starting at Kaminos, continuing to Aule, and completing your visit at Kapeleion.

We recommend allowing at least 2 hours to enjoy the full Plataeon experience across all three venues.

This timeframe does not include any additional time you may spend at Kapeleion should you choose to stay for a meal.
